Bridezilla roasted after boasting she won’t provide booze, food or a DJ for her 150 wedding guests – despite spending £1k on a dress
A BRIDE has been roasted online after revealing she’s keeping wedding costs down by not providing any booze or food – despite forking out £1,000 for her dress.
Wedding are expensive and most couples have a strict budget, but one bride-to-be has been mocked after she shared her cost-cutting plans.
While most couples try and stop bills from spiralling, one woman decided to claw back some cash by just serving popcorn to her 150 guests.
Sharing her itemised wedding on Facebook group she claimed she was currently under her total budget, which was £8,200 ($10,000).
She wrote: “Not doing food just cake, cupcakes, and popcorn will spend £328 ($400) and all.”
But one area where she splashed the cash was for her wedding dress, spending £985 ($1,200) on a gown and veil.
She added: “Also bought three bridesmaid dresses £57 ($70) and all our shoes for £164 ($200).”
The couple plan on getting married in a family church, and the bride had earmarked £821 ($1,000) for decorations.
In more cost-saving measures, the bride-to-be also revealed she wasn’t having an engagement or a bridal party.
But one area where she was spending a few grand was on photos of the big day, handing over £1,149 ($1,400) to a photographer, and another £985 ($1,200) to a videographer.
It seems as if they won’t be snapping many happy guests, as the bride’s list goes on to add that she’s not having a DJ – or serving any alcohol – either.
Her last expenses are (£246) $300 for her rehearsal dinner and £164 ($200) for a bachelorette party
In total she’s spending only £4,904 ($5,970) – way less than her £8,200 ($10,000) budget.
But her proud planning has been mocked online, with people questioning how she can justify merely serving popcorn to her guests.
Commenting online, one person said: “$1200 dress… and she’s serving popcorn to 150 people?”
Others also questioned why so much money was being spent on media, saying: “Spending $1400 on a guy to take pictures on $1200 on someone to do videos.
“Surely they don’t need both and could afford something decent for guests so they can get some genuine smiles on them?”
A third wrote: “Cake and popcorn, sounds like a middle school sleep-over.”
Someone else commented: “$2.66 / head on food?
“But $6.77 head on decorations? Your decorations better be pizza stapled to the wall.”
Another said: “Cake, cupcakes and popcorn?
“Don’t be p****d when I get a pizza delivered to your reception and don’t f****** share it with you.”
This person asked: “No food, no alcohol, no music… wtf is your videographer going to video?
“A bunch of hungry people milling around making awkward conversation.
Agreeing, this person added: “So if there’s no food, no alcohol & no music what are the guests to do?
“Are there chairs for them to sit on at least?”
