Meghan Markle has helped Prince Harry ‘reconnect’ with Prince Charles who she thinks is ‘gentlemanly’, says royal expert
MEGHAN Markle has had a positive influence on Prince Harry's relationship with Prince Charles.
The Duchess of Sussex, 38, has helped her husband "reconnect" with his father, who she considers "gentlemanly", says a royal expert.
Previously, the Duke of Sussex, 34, along with his brother Prince William, 37, hadn't had a particularly close relationship with their dad, 70, growing up.
But Robert Jobson, a royal journalist, author and broadcaster, has claimed that the new royal mum - who gave birth to Prince Charles' fourth grandchild Archie in May - has changed that.
“Indeed, many believe Harry’s newfound warmth towards his father is due to the prince’s new bride," he told the .
“William, too, has been known to be far from deferential towards Charles.
"More than that, it is her newfound relationship with Charles that is proving to be key.”
Jobson also revealed Meghan was a huge fan of the Queen's eldest son.
He reports that a palace source said of their first meeting: "When Meghan met the Prince of Wales she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm.
“She told Prince Harry he was wonderful; welcoming, warm, hardworking, kind and stable.
“She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.”
Her comments to Harry that he should "look after the loving parent you have left” has led him to "reconnect" with his father.
Charles himself is believed to be impressed by his daughter-in-law, who he walked down the aisle at last year's royal wedding in place of her estranged father Thomas Markle.
He is understood to have told friends: "She is so intelligent and so nice. We could not like her more.”
