Woman’s boyfriend gives her a ‘pre-engagement ring’ to see if she’s ‘wifey material’ – but he’ll only propose if she passes the test

A WOMAN has revealed how her boyfriend has given her a "pre-engagement ring" to see if she's "wifey material".

Another person posted a snap she had shared online of the rock on her hand to a Facebook wedding shaming group.

They explained: "So this was sent to me and my entire head about exploded...promise ring is bad enough but PRE-ENGAGEMENT RING has me in the grave."

In the original post the woman explained how, while she was wearing the jewellery on her 'ring' finger, she wasn't quite yet betrothed.

She wrote: "So my boyfriend and I have decided to be pre-engaged, I don't know if anyone has heard of it but he suggested to buy me a semi-engagement ring to see if I am wifey material.

"I love the ring he gave me and told him that when we do become engaged, just to get an add on to the ring.

"I hope I pass this little pre-engagement test and the actual engagement is right around the corner, but for now I am enjoying this feeling of being his fake-to-be wife."

Facebook users were shocked she had agreed to the bizarre arrangement.

One person wrote: "Pre-engagement test? That sounds like BULL."

Another commented: "This is his way of telling her to shut up about it cuz he's not marrying her."

With strong words, another pointed out: "Oh honey, the only thing you should be getting 'tested' for is STDs because he is definitely cheating on you."

And another stated: "If you have to pass any kind of 'test' to be wife material, find a new boyfriend."
