Meghan Markle and Prince Harry ‘won’t take a back seat’ and are ‘increasingly confused between the celebrity world or the royal one’ says royal expert
PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle are struggling to choose between being part of the 'celebrity world or the royal one', a royal expert has claimed.
Angela Levin urged the Duchess of Sussex, 38, to consider their 'increasingly confused' royal role, saying she didn't expect the new mum to 'quietly take a back seat' from her celebrity status.
Speaking to the Telegraph, she said: "While their relationship seems hunky-dory, the type of royal role they want to pursue appears increasingly confused: public servants or globe trotting celebrity A-listers?
"One can't imagine Meghan quietly taking a back seat - she is bursting with projects and ideas of all sorts and Harry's hard partying days are far behind him."
Royal biographer Angela went on to say the pair were 'ambitious, positive philanthropists', who are currently facing the challenge of using their position 'to make changes without taking advantage of it'.
The couple have hit the headlines recently following backlash over their trips on private jets - allegedly four in just 11 days - despite strongly supporting environmental issues.
But despite the drama, Angela expects the Sussex family's tour of South Africa - where three-month-old Archie will join them in visiting Angola, Malawi and Botswana - to be a 'huge success'.
However, she noted that now may be a good time for Meghan and Harry to sit down and consider which direction - royal or celebrity - they want to take.
Angela noted that the couple using private jets in recent weeks may have 'crossed the celebrity line', after future king Prince William was seen boarding a budget airline flight in the same week.
The Duke of Cambridge, 37, travelled with his wife Kate, 37, and three children, George, six, Charlotte, four, and Louis, one, from Norwich to Aberdeen.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, however, who are known for championing environmental causes, generated an estimated seven times the emissions per person to a commercial flight on their private jet flying home from Nice last week.
Pictures showed the royal couple and baby Archie stepping onto a Cessna 680 Citation Sovereign jet after visiting Sir Elton John's £15million home in Castel Mont-Alban.
And following backlash toward the couple, Elton confirmed he had paid a sum to a carbon footprint fund in order to ensure the flight was 'carbon neutral'.
