TIPPING the scales at 17-stone, Suzi Kavanagh realised something in her life desperately needed to change.
She could only fit into size 20 clothing and could barely walk anymore due to the health problems her weight was causing her.
Her reality check came when her husband Nik admitted he was terrified the agony she was getting in her legs was going to leave her wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life.
Determined to do something about her weight, Suzi, who is an activities coordinator in a care home, joined Slimming World as a "last resort", and is now almost seven stone lighter.
In just 18 months, she's dropped an impressive four dress sizes and weighs in at a healthy ten stone.
The super slimmer, from Rubery in Worcestershire, said: "I really believe it saved my life.
"I was struggling to walk because I was in so much pain. My husband Nik was concerned that I was heading for a wheelchair.
"My ankles hurt so much because of the weight that I was carrying, I was in agony.
"My doctor suggested that I try Slimming World as a last resort and I joined the next day, and it pretty much saved my life."
Suzi had piled on the pounds after years of gorging on cakes and biscuits at work.

And she even admitted that she would munch on bread with almost every year.
She added: "If I had a curry to eat then it would be naan breads, or if I had Italian, it would be garlic bread and all the sides.
"I work in a nursing home with the elderly, and there’s always lots of biscuits and cakes around too.
"For lunch I would have sandwiches – more bread – and I was eating a lot of junk."
Despite this, Suzi completely overhauled her diet after signing up to Slimming World - but admits she still manages to include some of her favourite treats in her meal plan, including Scotch eggs.
She said: "I stopped snacking on cakes at work. Now I bring in my own snacks of lean chicken, hi-fi bars, Ryvita or home-made syn-free Scotch eggs to eat during the day.
"I also go to the gym three times a week and do Zumba, which is lots of fun, or body combat.
"I make much healthier versions of my meals, lowered my carb intake and definitely cut back on the bread!
"I still have treats, but my colleagues have been really supportive and make sure I don’t stray at work."
Suzi is now keeping a food diary on Facebook to help motivate her friends to lose weight too and explained that all the positive feedback has given her a boost to keep going.

She said: "Friends from all over the country have messaged me to say that I’ve inspired them to make a change, which just feels amazing.
"I’m so much healthier and now I can run around after my little niece, which is lovely.
"I used to hate having my photo taken, but now I have a lot more confidence. Slimming World gave me a new lease of life and I’m not going to stop now."
