If It Fits Your Macros (IIFYM), a weight loss company, have developed and released an alcohol diet calculator that is for anyone who still wants to go out for a drink and not worry about their diet.

allows users to know the exact number of calories in their drinks so that they can convert them into carbs and/or fat.

The benefit is that they can comply with tracking their diet so that they are able to burn fat without having to suffer from restrictive and boring meal plans.

Explaining the new calculator, IIFYM founder Anthony Collova, told : "The newly released alcohol diet calculator is a way to help people get on a diet that allows them to burn fat while enjoying the food and drinks that they really enjoy.

"Because the diet is not restrictive, people find it easier to keep on complying with the diet, allowing them to achieve their weight loss goals."

The calculator can be used in association with macro dieting - in which you count the macronutrients—grams of proteins, carbs and fats—you’re eating within your calorie goal, and in what ratios.

How does it work

Firstly, you have to choose which drink you're planning on ordering at the bar - whether that's red wine, a cosmopolitan or a regular beer.

In the second step you have to add in exactly how much you're planning on drinking - this then calculates the total number of calories of your drink in that serving.

Then, using a slider on the calculator, you can split your drink calories into the macro rating of your choosing - meaning you can get the exact grams of fats and carbs you're consuming.

Next you will need to subtract the fat and/or carbohydrates shown in the slider from your weight loss macros.

Doing this will lower your macros by the amount of calories in the alcohol you listed in the macro alcohol calculator above - this way your fat loss calories will add up correctly, even though your macros don't.

Other weight loss calculators

There are other weight loss calculators too that can calculate the specific amount of calories you need to be eating every day in order to reach your target weight.

One is the BMI Calculator which involves you putting in your age, weight, height and gender, as well as how much you want to lose and the amount of daily activity you do and voila.

Of course, this is based on if you did absolutely no exercise at all so it's important to factor in whether you're burning fat in other ways.

Some weight loss calculators will let you factor this in.

You could try the , which takes into account your daily activity level before asking whether you're planning to increase your exercise.

Once you've popped in all your details the nifty tool offers three calculations.

First of all it will tell you how many calories you need to eat to maintain your current weight, how much to reach your goal weight and how much you need to eat to maintain your goal weight.
