Piers Morgan applauds Meghan Markle’s ‘warm-hearted’ dance with locals in South Africa, claiming ‘this is what being royal is about’
PIERS Morgan surprised Good Morning Britain viewers today when he spoke warmly about Meghan Markle.
The 54-year-old presenter, who is one of the Sussexes' biggest critics, said he admired her “warm-hearted” approach to locals on day one of her royal tour of Southern Africa.
Prince Harry and Meghan landed in Cape Town on Monday, and during a visit to a township the Duchess took part in a lively dance with locals – something that earned her high praise from Piers.
Discussing the royal tour on GMB this morning, his co-host Susanna Reid asked Piers whether he had “forgiven” Meghan yet.
He responded: “It’s not about forgiveness and the answer to that is no, why should I?
“I’ve got something positive to say. This is what you should do, this is fine, this is what royals do.
But after messaging for months on social media and getting a drink in a London pub in June 2016, Piers claims he never heard from the Duchess of Sussex after she went on a date with Prince Harry the following night.
Piers has been very outspoken about his feelings towards Meghan in the past, previously accusing her of "hypocrisy."
In other royal news, a body language expert has revealed that Harry is "still in the honeymoon phase" with Meghan.
And unseen snaps of Meghan have been shared ahead of the final episode of Suits.
