My espresso martini base can be made in advance and frozen so you can grab it whenever you fancy a nightcap – though you may want to use decaf coffee unless you want to be up all night.

It’s been a difficult year for so many people so you deserve to put your feet up with a fabulous drink or two.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year’s Eve, whatever your plans are.

YOU NEED:

  • 30ml freshly brewed espresso
  • Ice, to serve
  • 50ml vodka
  • 15ml kahlua
  • 15ml simple syrup

METHOD: Brew the coffee and leave it to cool. Pour it into a small jug and place in the fridge (this will last 2-3 days).

READY TO DRINK: When you are ready to make your espresso martini, add some ice, vodka, kahlua, cooled espresso and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker.

Shake really well until you have a lovely foam on the top. Pour into a martini glass – and enjoy.
