Dad slammed ‘judgey’ mums after getting slated for kid’s packed lunch – can you see what the issue is?
A PARENT has left the internet divided after sharing a snap of a lunchbox he had prepared for his toddler.
The dad, who claimed he makes lunch for his daughter on a daily basis, added that he likes to switch it up from time to time, so the child wouldn't get bored of the same meals.
That day's lunchbox, which consisted of of spaghetti, dried broccoli, blackberries and a handful of lentil chips, was shared in a Facebook group to help fellow parents with inspiration.
"She sometimes eats it all but we try new things to see what will catch on with her," he told, according to reports.
Despite the relatively healthy and nutritious contents of the lunchbox, fellow mums appeared to have an issue with the cold spaghetti.
"Curious about the spaghetti, do you warm it up in the morning so it is room temp by lunchtime or is it just cold?" asked one.
''If we want real equality, we should post the same [judgey] comments as if it was a mum packing the lunch, not some pretend-to-be-nice with "does the pasta stay warm in this box?" questions.
''We all know it doesn't!
''Kidding good job dad! But do buy a thermos for that pasta," another commented.
Some users of the group thought the box needed a sweet treat as well, like this person who said: ''Her little dessert circle is missing something.''
''Come on dad, at least some chocolate chips or something,' agreed someone else.
However, the dad then explained that his wife and he had mutually decided that there was enough sugar in the fruit, and so, there was no need to add an additional sugary pudding.
In regards to the spaghetti, he also went on to write: ''Her old preschool used to warm it up for her but her current one doesn't.
''I tried sending this along and it wasn't eaten.
''So no luck with her liking cold spaghetti.''
He also said that although the parents would prefer if she ate fresh broccoli, he is happy that the daughter consumes it in the dry form.
While some parents seemed to have an issue with the lunchbox, others defended him saying the meal looked more nutritious than the other ones they have seen.
