I’m an ex-barista & customers are so rude, mums are the worst & this is what we really think when you order a Babychinno
MOST baristas look forward to greeting guests and making them the perfect cup of coffee, but that doesn't mean they enjoy every interaction with customers.
Here, one Barista, Katie*, speaks to Fabulous about the rudest things customers do, and their honest opinion on ordering your kids a babychinno at every chance you get.
Ordering babyccinos
While most coffee shops and baristas are more than happy to give out a free babyccino for your little one, there is a limit.
Katie explained that it really depends on the customers attitude, if they're nice, polite and order other items that they pay for, they're more than happy to offer one.
But, Katie draws a line at a group of mum's coming in, ordering one coffee and expecting six babyccinos for free.
She said: "You're paying for just one drink, and then you expect me to make you five free babyccinos. That's not really acceptable.
"I've offered them to parents when they didn't know it was available, but if you're acting entitled to free things I have a problem."

Giving out hot water for baby food
Katie recalls many times where mum's would come up to the counter 'demanding' jugs of hot water to heat their kids milk up.
She finds it especially frustrating when they haven't ordered anything and expect baristas to do it regardless, or worse, get an attitude when told no.
The ex-barista said that in her experience: "They would get offended and rude when you tell them that you can't give them hot water.
"When you offer to do it for them behind the counter, they refuse and get nasty."
Katie explains baristas aren't doing it to be difficult, but that many coffee shops have a policy where you can't hand out hot water due to health and safety.
"If anything were to happen to you, or your child, then we're going to be held responsible for it."
"Bring your own thermoflask of hot water with you, you know you have children and will need it at some point," she continued: "I'm just doing my job."

Leaving a mess behind
One thing that particularly irks Katie, is when mum's leave a giant mess after visiting the store.
"Half of the things that they're eating, drinking or feeding their children are not even things that they buy from the coffee shop.
"They get their free babychinnos and then leave crisps, banana peels, and baby wipes all over the table and floor." She added.
Sitting in closed off areas
The ex-barista explained they would often have to clean the entire store at night, and usually with just an hour to do so.
That meant they would often close some parts of the seating areas early to get everything done in time, but some disrespectful customers would ignore it.
"Do you need me to teach you how to read? Are you blind? I'm aggravated just thinking about customers doing it.
"The biggest lesson that I've learned from working as a barista, is that common sense isn't very common.
"Some customers even go as far as looking at you while they do it.
"Like they're letting you know that they're doing it on purpose."
Not putting away highchairs
If you've decided to grab a highchair to use for your child while you sit and enjoy your coffee, Katie has one request, put it back after and clean it if it's a mess.
"There's a reason why the chair was not there to begin with. Right?" Katie said "You should leave it the way you came to it.
"Just be considerate, don't leave it super disgusting and messy."
'It's your job'
While many people may say it's Katie's job to clean up after customers, she doesn't necessarily agree.
"I would say personally, that it is your job as an adult human being to be hygienic and clean.
