I worked in Wetherspoons – there’s a meal on the menu that’s best by a mile, it’s the only thing made fresh
A FORMER Wetherspoons worker has revealed the freshest food the pub chain offers and reckons it should be everyone’s first choice from the menu.
The bar group is known for its cheap and cheerful drinks and meals with pretty simple dishes.
However, Victoria Booth, 25, who worked in the Counting House in Glasgow, is adamant one option stands out from the rest.
She says: “The best on offer for me are the pizzas.
“They are next to the only thing made fresh in a proper pizza oven and have the best quality.
“But you maybe don’t that many deals on them.
“I think going on the days the deals are on - like Steak Club - would be better for that.”
The ex-employee previously lifted the lid on the most annoying complaints that staff hear from customers.
She said: “The most annoying complaints were when people ordered on the app themselves, got it wrong and blamed us.
“We can only make what people put into the app and aren’t mind readers who knew what they actually meant.”

Victoria added: “Or complaining about not being able to get a drink before 10am like it’s my fault the government made the law we just need to follow.
“I would say every shift I worked in the morning you would get someone.
“I think with it being on George Square we had the traffic from Queen Street so a lot of English people would come and we would be the first pub.
“And that rule isn’t a thing down there.
“Or when there is football on and people are wanting to get a drink before the game it was very common.”
