IT can sometimes be hard eating out if you don’t eat meat but thankfully McDonald’s are looking to make it a lot easier.

The fast food chain has announced they are trialling a new item for their menu – a vegan burger.

The McVegan burger will be available in Finland from October 4 to November 21 initially

McDonald’s has launched the new product, which is appropriately called the McVegan, with the aim of testing if the plant-based item proves popular.

Sadly there is one catch for fast food fans excited by the news – it is initially only available in Tampere, Finland from October 4 to November 21.

The McVegan is a soy-based patty nestled in a bun with lettuce, onions, ketchup and mustard and has already caused McDonald’s fans to go wild.

Excited social media users have been commenting saying they hope the chain will trial it in a number of different locations and have urged the company to bring it to the UK.

The news was announced by McDonald's Suomi, which is the Finnish Instagram account for the brand, and it has received over 600 likes on the app.

Customers who have been lucky enough to get their hands on the McVegan burger have been eagerly sharing images of their meals online.

One lady claimed she had boycotted the brand for over 20 years, but the new plant-based burger had changed her mind.

There have sadly been no confirmed plans for a global rollout as of yet.

While the news has caused many vegans to get excited, a different change to the chain's menu has left others fuming.

McDonald’s has scrapped its McCafe Mocha and many unhappy customers have taken to Twitter to vent their anger, with many using the hashtag #mochagate.

However, some US fans went wild earlier this week when McDonald’s announced it is bringing Szechuan sauce back for one day only.

Back in 1998 McDonald's treated their fans to a limited edition Szechuan sauce to celebrate the release of the Disney movie Mulan.
