How many handshakes did Paul Hollywod give out?

Throughout this series, Judge Paul Hollywood has given handshakes to bakers on every episode.

He is known for his rare accolade, reserved only for the crème de la crème of bakers.

Who received a handshake?

The first baker to receive a handshake was Dan – who is also the first person this series to get the coveted prize.

Paul was impressed with Dan’s boozy black forest gateaux tray bake, which he made in the first round.

The second person to get a handshake was Rahul.

He wowed the judges with his showstopper piece, where the contestants had to make a two-tiered collared cake – in 30c heat.

Paul told Rahul he had “never” given out a handshake for a showstopper challenge before.

But that soon changed as he followed up his first handshake with another one for Ruby’s showstopper.

The baker, who struggled in the signature and technical rounds, redeemed herself with a chocolate orange creation.

The two-tiered showstopper earned her a handshake from the blue-eyed judge.
