These are the things we love most about the British summer
Give in to Summer. In association with McDonald's
HERE comes the sun… and with it everything we Brits love.
Endless summer days, trips to the beach and, of course, tasty tucker to help fuel the fun.
Luckily, McDonald’s has got you covered.
The all-new Bacon Roll has launched and it’s their best ever.
Three rashers of RSPCA-assured bacon, a supersoft white bun and your choice of ketchup or brown sauce make this a morning must-have. Bliss.
And that’s not the only thing to love about this summer.
From festivals to pool days, we’ve picked six irresistible July treats you can’t help giving in to.
Maxing out those light, long evenings
Long winter nights can be a downer. Trudging home from work, you dream of trackie-based lounging and text marathons with mates tucked up doing the same. But now it’s summer and it’s light until late late... so you’re going out out! You storm the party you’d normally ditch for a box set binge. In fact, you’re so busy being awesome, you miss dinner. Cheeky McDonald’s Bacon Roll for brekkie, anyone?
Hitting the road
Waking up with no plans is simply a ticket to adventure in summer. It can mean only one thing: ROAD TRIP! Load up the car with kids or mates, stick a pin in the map and simply go. Yes, you’ll end up fighting over the playlist and who gets shotgun. But there’s one thing you can *probably* all agree on: start the journey right with a trip to McDonald’s. Then sing, moan and bicker your way to sunny memories that will last a lifetime.
Falling in love with festivals
If there’s one thing we Brits do best it’s a summer festival. Armed only with leaky wellies and enough body glitter to keep a four-year-old happy for life, you rock up. And then rock out in a field to your favourite band with your favourite people. Yes it’ll probably rain and your tent may get lost in a sea of mud. But who cares when there’s memories to be made? For maximum enjoyment grab yourself a McDonald's Bacon Roll on the drive up to start your weekend with a bang.
Blitzing the beach
Oh we *really* do like to be beside the seaside. Is there anything more joyful than heading to the coast for a bit of sun, sand and countless ice-creams? Whether it’s a family day or a chance to catch up with mates, bagsy a deckchair, slather on the sun cream and dare to swim in the sea. There’s a pier to play arcade games you know you’ll never win? Even better. Get stuck in.
Partying poolside
Of course, sand in your pants isn’t for everyone. If you want to splash about closer to home, you can’t beat a day in the sunshine at your local lido. Lying on a towel, you realise that crystal clear water is calling you. But not to swim in. Hell no! You might manage half a length but then it’s time to enjoy what all that glorious water is really for: splashing mates, standing in the shallow end flirting and messing about on a pool float bigger than your house.
Ditching al desko and eating al fresco
Nobody wants crumbs in their keyboard at work. But that’s what you’re gonna get if you always eat breakfast at your desk. Make the most of the light mornings and balmy temperatures by grabbing yourself a Maccies and sitting in the nearest park to tuck in. You may have to leave home a smidge earlier but you’ll start your work day feeling ready for anything. Rinse and repeat for a blissful outdoor lunch and dinner.
