I’m a fat loss guru – here’s how to boost your metabolism and lose weight WITHOUT starving yourself

MANY of us have been led to believe that the way to shed weight is to eat less.

But according to a fat loss guru, restricting yourself isn’t necessarily the best way to go about it.

Justin Nault took to TikTok to explain if you’ve cleaned up your diet and exercise regularly but can’t see any change in your appearance, it could actually down to your metabolism.

The metabolic health coach and nutritional therapist – who claims to “heal slow metabolisms for a living” – said “if your body is story excess fat that you can’t seem to lose, even if you’re exercising and cutting calories”, you might have some sort of “clinical metabolic dysfunction”.

According to Justin, a whopping 88 per cent of Americans suffer from some form of it.

But the founder and CEO of the nutrition company Clovis Culture assured viewers that your body is ‘adaptable’.

“Metabolic damage is reversible,” he claimed in a that has racked up over two million views.

Justin had three simple tips that he said would immediately increase your metabolism.

1. Remove seed oils from your diet

Justin’s first recommendation is that you don’t consume any seed oils.

“Don’t cook with them, check every single ingredients label of all processed foods that you buy and ask restaurants to cook your food in butter,” the fat loss coach advised.

He claimed that seed oils are “used to fatten livestock on fewer calories”.

“They’re not just bad for your health,” Justin went on, “they’re ruining your metabolism.”

What are seed oils, you may ask? In a , Justin said there are too many of them to list but they’re used in most restaurants and processed foods.

Instead, he provided a list of oils that he claims won’t hurt your metabolism:

  • olive oil
  • coconut oil
  • butter/ghee
  • tallow
  • animal based fats
  • sustainable palm oil

It should be noted that eating lots of saturated fats such as those listed above could raise your cholesterol and increase your risk of heart disease, according to .

reports that avocado and olive oil are both good choices.

But it suggested limiting the following:

  • soybean oil
  • corn oil
  • cottonseed oil
  • sunflower oil
  • peanut oil
  • sesame oil
  • rice bran oil

2. Eat more protein

The nutritionist’s next tip was to pack in the protein.

His formula to do so was to have “one gram of protein per pound of your ideal body weight”.

Justin explained: “If you want to weigh 130 pounds, eat at least 130g of protein per day.

“If this seems hard to you, I guarantee you’re already under-eating, and your metabolism is suffering from a lack of nutrients.

“This is one of the ways that under-eating can actually cause you to store fat.”

According to , eating protein can reduce your hunger hormones and boost your satiety hormones, making you feel fuller for longer.

It also claimed that high protein intake has been shown to boost metabolism and burn more calories around the clock.

3. Switch processed foods for whole ones

The fat loss guru’s third tip was to eschew processed foods and replace them with whole ones instead.

“Studies show that your body burns more when you’re eating whole foods rather than processed foods, even if you’re eating the same number of calories,” Justin claimed.

According to , examples of common processed foods include:

  • breakfast cereals
  • cheese
  • tinned vegetables
  • bread
  • savoury snacks, such as crisps, sausage rolls, pies and pasties
  • meat products, such as bacon, sausage, ham, salami and paté
  • microwave meals or ready meals
  • cakes and biscuits
  • drinks, such as milk or soft drinks
