TRIED AND TESTED

We test three green powders on the market that are packed with superfoods

Plus one that's great if you plan to over-indulge at Christmas parties

GREEN powders have seen a huge growth in popularity during this year.

The supplements are packed with a variety of dried, powdered superfoods, fruit and veg as well as minerals that you rehydrate with water.

This is aimed at dealing with women’s hormones, with ingredients including actazin and livaux powders from kiwi, which is great for gut health, maca powder and stress-busting KSM-66 ashwagandha.

There are two blends – the Original and the Mango.

I tried the mango which contains natural sweeteners and flavourings.

It tastes quite pleasant and it gave me a boost too.

PACKED with 19 active ingredients, Greens Complex from Nutravita contains wheatgrass, spinach, psyllium husk, beetroot, alfalfa, broccoli, kale, moringa, kelp and maca.

This one may include the fewest ingredients of those I tried but might actually be good for this time of year if you are planning to over- indulge at Christmas parties.

It has turmeric, artichoke extract and ginger root, which are all good for liver health.

Each 7g serving contains 20 calories with 1.75g of fibre.

This came in an apple flavour, thanks to a large amount of apple fruit powder, as well as sweeteners xylitol and stevia.

This supplement definitely had the best taste of the three.
