IT wasn't so long ago when dads were banished from the delivery room, but this proud father was determined to experience the moment his child came into the world.
So much so, Fakamalo Kihe Eiki decided to share it with the world, and live streamed the birth of his son on Facebook.
The normally immensely private moment was viewed by more than 39,000 people who tuned in to watch his partner "pushing baby out".
In the 45-minute video Fakamalo offers words of support to his wife, who remains incredibly calm given she's being broadcast live.
As the little one arrives he shouts: "He’s hairy, he’s got so much hair!
"Oh my goodness, you got him – he’s coming out. Hi baby! Come out baby, there you go, I see your face!"
Audibly moved and on the verge of tears, he then cries: "Yes! Baby’s out! Yes! Yay! Thank you Lord, oh thank you Jesus. You cry, baby, ahhh."
He later jokes: "He screams like his mum."
Several viewers commented on the emotional moment.
Michelle McLearen wrote: "She's so brave. Almost there" before adding: "Absolutely beautiful."
Family member Jeff Gibons posted: "That's so amazing for you both love you guys and may God forever bless you and your family. A new life, welcome to the world little nephew, this brought me to tears with happiness, such an awesome day."
Fakamalo seemed delighted with the response, writing: "Thanks guys for enjoying the gift of life with me. Come celebrate next weekend bbq if in area."
He'd clearly taken a leaf out of Robbie Williams's book.
The pop star made a video diary and live-tweeted his wife Ayda Field's labour as she gave birth to their second child.
More than 17 million people watched the series of clips which showed her going through painful contractions and Robbie dancing at her bedside presumably in an attempt to distract her.
