British tourists return to the Spanish holiday resort despite new alcohol laws

UK party firms still hold big boozy bar crawls and encourage drunken girls to strip for shots

BRIT tourists once again take to the notorious holiday resort of Magaluf as firms continue to host boozy bar crawls despite new alcohol laws.

The Spanish holiday destination of Magaluf is still as wild and debauched as ever, even after mayor Alfonso Rodriguez pledged to prevent binge drinking.

Drunken teenagers have once again taken over the Spanish island and the streets are still rife with Class A drugs, pub crawls and girls stripping for shots, according to Sunday People.

Last year Mayor Alfonso Rodriguez brought in new alcohol laws to try and clean up Magaluf's act including banning bar crawls of over 20 people

This is all despite the fact that last year Mayor Alfonso Rodriguez brought in new alcohol laws to try and clean up the island's act.

After outrageous footage of a woman from Northern Ireland was seen performing sex acts on 24 men for a free shot was publicised, authorities attempted to take a more firm policy.

Last year boozy bar crawls of more than 20 people were banned and for anyone caught drinking in the street, getting nude in public or any shops who sold alcohol at night would be issued with a fine.

And just a few months ago, the major of Magaluf bragged that antisocial behaviour had virtually disappeared but in reality that's not the case.

But UK events companies have simply been flouting the new laws and one bar crawl, organised by Magaluf Events, continued to keep the party scene alive.

Tickets could be purchased through Feelsummer and the lucrative bar crawl was billed as a Thailand-style "full moon party".

Feelsummer’s website said: “F**k travelling thousands of miles for a full moon party. It’s time for Magaluf to take it to a whole new level.”

Also inclusive of your ticket, holidaymakers would receive milkshakes laced with magic mushrooms, a drug which is Class A in the UK and can result in prison time.

Early on in the day, despite the new laws, one rep claims she had already sold almost 40 of the £35 tickets and by the time it got to 9pm, there were about 100 revellers.

The no public nudity law also seemed to be broken too as the DJ shouted to the crowd of cheering teens: “You get a free shot for every nipple exposed!”

Later on during the full moon crawl, one group of lads chanted “Let’s get f***ing w***ered” while reps rounded everyone up to go to the next bar, the Beach Club.

The drunken scenes come just after Mark Bottomley, a managing director of Magaluf Events, said the perception of the area is just "misconstrued", and that many tourists also come to visit for live events.

But in contrast to his statement, a DJ addressed the crowd by saying “Get your tits out!” while a worker for Magaluf events had already stripped to her underwear on a podium.

One holidaymaker said: “This is the best weekend I’ve ever had. I’ve been going mad. Drinking is so cheap and you can get drugs everywhere.”

And with pints of cocktails costing around £5 and shots £2 it's no wonder tourists looking for a booze up are attracted to Magaluf.

For some partygoers the drinks didn't cost anything, as reps would fill their mouths with free alcohol and women were challenged to drink more than the men.

By the time it got to midnight, revellers could barely stand but they were herded by reps to the final bar, where they were encouraged to make the most of the free booze.
