Jobless single mum-of-EIGHT says making £31,000-a-year in benefits is ‘easy’ and claims Myleene Klass 'backs her'

A SHAMELESS mother-of-eight who rakes in benefits of £31,000-a-year has boasted about her easy life.
Marie Buchan was given a four-bedroomed council house after claiming benefits cuts would leave her on the breadline.
But when she was interviewed by Myleene Klass on her show Single Mums On Benefits, she admitted living on handouts was “an easy option”.
She added: “You obviously have a baby, you send off the application form, birth certificate, they assess it and then you've got your money in your account. It is very easy.”
The 33-year-old found fame has appeared on several TV shows, including This Morning and Channel 5’s Benefits Britain: Life on the Dole, after landing herself a new home in Selly Oak, Birmingham.
Myleene interviewed the single mum for her ITV documentary, which airs tonight, and Marie said she was “very supportive”.
Marie said: “It's been quite strange, I have already had Katie Hopkins and Jody Marsh at my house, and now Myleene Klass.
“She didn't seem to in any way criticise me but I am aware that TV can be edited in a certain way so I will wait until the show goes out to see exactly what is said.
“But certainly Myleene as a person and mother was very supportive and she is welcome back to my home anytime.”
Marie came close to being evicted after getting £4,000 in arrears on rent, earlier this year.
Since the show was filmed, Marie has found a job as a carer at weekends but doesn’t earn enough to affect her benefits.
She added: “I still get a lot of hate mail and abuse and I certainly get disgusting suggestions sent to me through Facebook and social media.
“First and foremost I am a mum. I have eight lovely kids, we are a strong family unit and we support each other, the kids support each other at school.
“I am very optimistic and always looking forward and I want to thank Myleene for being such a wonderful house guest.”
Myleene meets a variety of single mums on the show and she breaks down as she reveals her own struggles as a lone parent.
The mum-of-two said: “I felt like I had failed my children. When I became a mum I remember thinking: "This is an amazing job and I finally understand what my mum went through.
“And then you become a single mum and think: 'Oh my God, I'm gonna have to find superpowers here because there's just not enough hours in the day'.
“I became a single mum four years ago. Nothing could prepare me for the heartache and pain. You feel like you have failed. People look at you and think: 'What did she do?’
“That fear of failing my girls is the biggest motivation to succeed.”
