The 10 hottest football players from the Euros
IF you don't like footie, here are some good reasons to tune in...
DOES your mood plummet at the thought of having to sit through 90 minutes of football?
Whether it's your football fanatic partner, friend or family member forcing you to sit through the Euros, we've made it that bit better for you.
Your eyes are sure to light up once you see these hotties emerge from the tunnel...
Wes Hoolahan, 33, Ireland
The twinkle-toed midfielder who plays for Norwich City has earned the nickname “the Irish Messi” from his teammates.
High praise indeed, seeing as Argentina’s Lionel Messi is the No.1 player in the world.
FIRST MATCH June 13, 5pm
Cristiano Ronaldo, 31, Portugal
He captains his country, is Portugal’s all-time top goal scorer and is their hottest player – fact.
In his spare time the real Madrid star has dated Hollyoaks actress Gemma Atkinson and model Irina Shayk, and has a five-year-old son called Cristiano (obvs) – although he’s never revealed who the mother is.
Plus, he’s worth over £150million – some people have all the luck.
FIRST MATCH June 14, 8pm
Jesús Navas, 30, Spain
He may be well good at dribbling (um, it turns out we are, too) but what we mainly love about Jesús, other than his name, is that despite earning a whopping £90,000 a week, the Manchester City midfielder still turns up to training in his little Nissan Micra.
FIRST MATCH June 13, 2pm
Adam Lallana, 28, England
The Liverpool midfielder is well regarded for his footballing prowess, but thanks to his boyish good looks, it’s his fine form off the pitch we admire most.
In 2013, he kept his £500 wedding to Emily Jubb hush-hush and brought it forward so he was available for the Brazil World Cup the following year.
The couple now have two sons, three-year-old Arthur Michael and Albie George, two.
FIRST MATCH June 11, 8pm
Mats Hummels, 27, Germany
Part of the World Cup 2014 winning team, man-hunk Mats has recently been signed to Bayern Munich and is regarded as one of the world’s best defenders.
His wife Cathy, 28, was named Bundesliga (the German football league) WAG of the year in 2013. Now there’s an accolade.
FIRST MATCH June 12, 8pm
Aaron Ramsey, 25, Wales
Married to childhood sweetheart Colleen, Arsenal midfielder Aaron earns £80,000 a week (seriously, what do you spend that on?) and is signed to Elite modelling agency.
Best of all, there’s a ridiculous rumour known as the “curse of Aaron Ramsey”.
Apparently, when he scores, someone famous dies.
So far that’s included Robin Williams, Whitney Houston and Osama Bin Laden. Er, OK then.
FIRST MATCH June 11, 5pm
Gerard Piqué, 29, Spain
The rather dapper defender, who also plays for Barcelona, has been snaffled by Colombian booty-shaking singer Shakira, 39.
But we can still look, right?
After meeting while filming the vid for her 2010 World Cup song Waka Waka (This Time For Africa), they’ve had two super-cute sons Milan, three, and Sasha, one.
FIRST MATCH June 13, 2pm
Graziano Pellè, 30, Italy
You can catch the rather striking striker closer to home, as he plays for Southampton – and the 6ft 3in suave Italian definitely makes the grade for our dream team.
FIRST MATCH June 13, 8pm
Olivier Giroud, 29, France
The Arsenal striker, who has two-year-old daughter Jade with wife Jennifer, does a spot of modelling on the side. Natch.
He was the face of Hugo Boss fragrance Boss Bottled, and last year he was voted the hottest Premier League player by Paddy Power.
Yep, he’d get our vote, too.
FIRST MATCH June 10, 8pm
Iker Casillas, 35, Spain
The hot boy is never the goalie. Except in Spain’s case, it turns out he is.
Sadly, goalkeeper Casillas, who plays for Portuguese club Porto, is loved-up with Spanish sports journalist Sara Carbonero, 32, and they have a two- year-old son Martín.
We’re betting Iker’s a very hands-on dad.
