ATTENTION movie buffs: the house featured in 90s hit comedy Father of the Bride is up for sale.

The iconic colonial home provided the setting for many scenes in the 1991 film, which starred Steve Martin and Diane Keaton.

Following the success of the blockbuster, which brought in an impressive £62 million at the box office, the house seller hopes that the property will also prove lucrative.

The four-bedroom home, in Los Angeles, California is on sale for a whopping £1.4 million.

The property, which spans 4,397 square feet, includes a modern interior, four luxurious bathrooms, a new chef’s kitchen, an A-grade security system and a 90 bottle wine fridge.

Since the house was built in 1925, it’s been upgraded with some swanky new features, including a three car garage and en-suite guest room.

A number of different moments in the film were shot on the property, including the wedding scene and a lot of the outdoor back garden scenes.

Not only has the property provided the backdrop for Father of the Bride, it was also used in Guess Who, the 2005 remake of 1967 film Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner.

The comedy film, which was centred on the topic of race relations, starred Ashton Kutcher, Bernie Mac and Zoe Saldana.

The house has proven popular over the past decade, changing hands between a number of different buyers over the years.

Three years ago, the property sold for £900,000 and around ten years ago it was snapped up for £880,000.

Listing agent Ann Gluck, from Compass, said: "Special houses like this rarely come along and what a great opportunity to own a piece of movie history."
