Woman given up for adoption gives revealing account of sexual relationship with real dad after meeting him as adult
Speaking candidly about their sex life, she said her dad left his ex-wife for her, with the pair keeping their romance secret for over 10 years
A WOMAN who was reunited with her father as an adult after being given up for adoption has spoken openly about how they fell in love and are now in a sexual relationship.
Speaking out on The Redditor, using the name throwaway298706, she told users of the site the pair have been dating secretly for years and have a fulfilling sex life.
When they met she was dating another man and her father had a wife – they have now been together for over 10 years.
She said in an open letter she wanted to share her story, to highlight misconceptions about Genetic Sexual Attraction: “We love each other very intensely and I can't imagine ever being with anyone else.”
The condition refers to sexual attraction which can arise between relatives when they meet as adults.
The woman was adopted as a baby as her mother couldn’t afford to have a child financially.
She said she spent her teens “feeling out of place” and managed to track down her birth mother, and then her father when she was older.
The woman explained when she first saw photos of her father she dismissed her feelings as excitement: “When I first saw his photos and read what he had to say, I put the feelings off as just being mere excitement.
“He is a very handsome person, and extremely well spoken. We hit it off immediately.
“Even without any contact or knowledge of each other for two decades, we had nearly identical senses of humour, similar interests, tastes in music ... I could go on and on. We would stay up all night talking on the phone or chatting on IM.”
When they met for a second time she says “things took a turn and got out of control.”
Her boyfriend, and her husband’s wife, were getting very jealous of their relationship.
She went on: “It is extremely nerve wracking to talk about this, but he and I were talking at night in the dark.
“I don't know what I was thinking, but as we were talking I just instinctively leaned over and kissed him. And I didn't stop, and it didn't stop at just kissing.
“At that point, we put ourselves into a very complicated and difficult situation that would unfold over many years.”
The pair began to have a full blown sexual relationship, and her father eventually left his wife.
People began to get suspicious, as they “didn't act in a typical 'father/daughter’ fashion.”
The woman said they have now been in a relationship for several years – but no one, including their biological and adoptive families, know about their romance.
She said of Genetic Sexual Attraction: “I think part of the reason this happens to people, is that when you meet your biological parents you are basically meeting two strangers. I already have a mum and a dad.
The woman went on to explain she and her partner do not intend to have children.
The letter was posted four years ago – but has recently resurfaced online. It has got many comments – some people sympathizing and others saying they “couldn’t wrap” their minds around it.
