Our model tries six pairs of size 14 jeans… but only one pair fits
Which high street brand gets Geenay's highest rating out of 5?
MAYBE it does take a jean-ius to get clothes sizes right.
We told yesterday how size 14 student Ruth Clemens blasted H&M for “unrealistic sizing” when their size 16 jeans were too small for her.
Here, size 14 model Geenay Laubscher, 20, from London, tries jeans from six brands, giving her verdict and ratings out of 5.
H&M
Skinny regular jeans, £7.99
It's ridiculous, I can't even do them up
I can understand why Ruth expressed her anger on social media.
It’s so depressing when they don’t fit.
I am usually a size 14 and this is what these jeans are, so it’s ridiculous that I can’t even do them up.
They are uncomfortably tight around the leg too, it’s so deflating.

Zara
The Skinny, £29.99
If I really had to wear these, I could just about fasten the button.
But I wouldn’t be able to have them on all day.
They would be too tight and irritate my skin.
Plus, breathing might be difficult.
If they weren’t as stretchy, I doubt I would be able to get them over my legs.
I like the style but it’s a big thumbs down for fit.
RATING: 1/5
Primark
Skinny, £7
These fit snug round the legs and I can do them up without having to pull too hard.
The material is soft and comfortable too.
They are definitely the biggest pair for fit.
I could probably get away with a size smaller round the waist, but they are tight round the leg.
