What's App-ening?

This girl pulled a hilarious prank on her mum, who actually believes her face has become a SQUARE

She used an app to morph her face, but her unsuspecting mum had no idea

IT'S time to be honest - not all parents are renowned for their technical know-how.

Anyone who's tried to teach their mum to text or taken time out of their day to explain FaceTime to their dad will understand.

It can be a frustrating business... or it can lead to the mother of all gags, depending on your persuasion.

Rebecca Wyn Owen has her feet planted firmly in the latter camp, and the result is sure to leave you chuckling.

To kick things off, Rebecca started playing around with filters, with one that morphed her face into a square a particular favourite.

She loved it so much she decided to send the video on to her mum on WhatsApp, which is when the hilarity started.

Her poor mum had no idea what was happening and was instantly concerned.

"What's happened to you, did you fall when p***** last night [you] need to go hospital," she worriedly wrote.

"How's your face like you you must have a reaction to something you are."

Rebecca quickly fired off a reply which was obviously supposed to make her mum giggle.

"It's cause someone invited me to a party and they said to be there or be square," she wrote.

"I didn't go to the party and now my face is square. What am I going to do?"

Unfortunately, Rebecca's poor mum didn't get the joke.

She proceeded to reel off a wealth of advice, telling her daughter to call the doctor and tell him her face had "gone a weird shape". Her mum also wondered if she might have food poisoning.

Sensing the joke could run and run, Rebecca told her mum she didn't even "think it was really noticeable".

"Have you got mirrors in your house?" her mum responded.

The concerned parent then quizzed her daughter on whether she had a headache, before something else occurred to her.

"You've not taken any drugs have you?" she asked.

Rebecca confirmed she hadn't, with the pair eventually ending their exchange.

The following morning her mum was back on the text to check in with her square-faced daughter.

Rebecca told her she was OK then sent another picture to prove it - this one with another filter on it.

Her dismayed mum advised her to go to the doctor, prompting Rebecca to finally let her know she'd been messing around with an app.

"You b**** I haven't slept last night worried about you lol, I could just punch you now," her mum finally replied.
