OFTEN, it's impossible to guess what gems children are going to come out with whenever they open their mouths.
Normally, when kids blurt something out that they really shouldn't, it comes across more funny than anything else - but what about when children randomly come out with something truly chilling?
Horror movies often feature creepy children because everyone knows there's nothing more sinister than a killer kid.
But you have to feel sorry for the people who had to put up with these horrifying outbursts from their offspring in real life.

These outbursts either show just how odd children's imaginations can be, or they hint at something far more sinister.
Nap Nightmare
One parent, under the user name sidvil, shared a creepy story about how a nap-time turned into a nightmare, thanks to an unlikely outburst.
They wrote: "It was nap time for my three-year-old son. He went to sleep for an hour and then woke up and tried opening his bedroom door.
"He said in his little voice 'open the door'.
"I told him go back to bed and then I hear this creepy deep voice yell 'open the door!' like he was possessed or something.
"I ran to the door only to find my son standing there looking at me. So creepy I have goosebumps thinking about it right now."
Second Life
One parent had to deal with kids who imagined that they had been reincarnated.
User Mama2lbg2 wrote: "My girls ( 5 and 6 ) tell me about when they were ghosts and flew around looking at our family before they went in my tummy.
"The youngest says she was mad at her sister for going first and leaving her alone and she missed her.
"They tell all kinds of stories and get annoyed with me when I told them they never did that, and they say they did it when they were ghosts before they were themselves."
Haunting Daughter
One parent had a horrifying moment which they never forgot.
User octobertwins said: "My 3-year old told me she plays hide and seek with the 'laughing boy' in her closet. I asked what he looks like and she said, 'He doesn't have a face.'"
Creepy Niece
It wasn't just parents who had experienced some chilling outbursts from over-imaginative kids, as this babysitter had an equally creepy story to share.
User judeundull wrote: "I was babysitting my four-year-old niece. And, we're watching cartoons when she looks over, dead serious and wonders: 'So what's gonna happen to us when we die in two weeks?'"
If that horrifying example of a child with a 6th sense doesn't put you off having kids, I don't know what would.
Playground Peril
This nanny also had a chilling tale to share about an unlikely comment a creepy child made.
Posting under the username TideRideSlide, they said: "I was a nanny for a family in university and one thing the kid said always creeped me out.
"We would play these games at the playground to keep them active and one of the games was pretending the playground was safety boats and the ground was lava.
"Well, one of the kids - an eight-year-old boy - was doing something strange - pretending to eat something in a strange way which had nothing to do with the game.
"I said 'what are you doing?'. His response? 'I am eating humans'.
"That is something I haven't forgotten 10 years later as it had zero relevance to the game."
Eye Spy
A teacher even chipped in to offer a horrifying tale from a sinister student.
An aptly named user, ImASpectre wrote: "I teach martial arts at a school for extra curricular activities.
"One girl who is really sweet (about 6 years old) runs up and hugs me, then says 'tonight, I'm gonna find out where you live and come to your house, then go to your bedroom when you're sleeping, take out your eyes and eat them' and then runs away to grab a partner for the exercise."
