Thousands share emotional picture of couple getting engaged during Coldplay set at Glastonbury… to reunite them with the photo

The couple's phones had run out of battery... and they had thought the moment was lost forever

A MUM has reached thousands on Facebook in her mission to track down a newly engaged couple, after capturing their emotional Glastonbury proposal on camera.

Sarah McCrudie, from Bath, shared the adorable picture, which shows a man down getting down on one muddy knee as his future bride sobs tears of happiness, on the Glastonbury 2016 page – as she tried to reunite the pair with the picture.

She successful proposal took place during Coldplay’s music set – and the picture was shared more than 12,700 times and liked by over 27,000 people.

Sarah wrote: “Does anyone know this lovely couple? He proposed during Coldplay and I thought they’d like this photo!!

Thanks to the power of social media, Sarah has now tracked down the happy couple.

The lucky lady is thought to be Charlotte Cassidy, from Plymouth, who is now engaged to Colin Priest.

Showing her gratitude, Charlotte wrote last night: “Oh my god. I am so so so grateful right now. ITS US!

“We had no footage as our phone ran out of battery. You have completely made my night, thank you so much!”

Thousands were touched not only by the romantic proposal, but also Sarah’s gesture.

Emma Robinson wrote: “This is gorgeous. I hope I have this one day – congratulations”.

Hayley Bryant added: “Congrats this is beautiful – Sarah McCrudie restoring faith in humanity! That photo is stunning”.

However, some were less impressed with the bloke’s grand gesture.

George Russell wrote: “Proposed during Coldplay? She should have said no, no girl should be put through that”.

David Martin McNally joked: “She’s actually just covering her ears in agony cos (sic) Coldplay are on”.

The couple were not the only pair to get engaged during the five-day festival.

Apparently, men were getting their knees muddy throughout the Somerset site – especially during Adele’s gig.

Danielle Tyler and Matt Mather also got engaged during Coldplay’s emotional set.

While Lois Lola said engaged during Coldplay’s Wembley gig on June 16.

Glastonbury 2016 is the same Facebook page where the now infamous Glasto Nan left her adorable comment, reminding their grandchild to pack their wellies.
