The stars who tried to go under the radar – with varying degrees of success
Blending into the background clearly doesn't come naturally to some of these A-listers...
BEING a celeb has its benefits, but these A-listers surely have days they wish they were ordinary folk like the rest of us.
It's no wonder they occasionally adopt disguises in an attempt to keep their identity under wraps – with varying degrees of success…
Katy Perry
With her helmet, cap, scarf and sunglasses, Katy Perry’s disguise is really rather effective.
Dressed all in black, the singer rode through the streets of Manhattan largely unnoticed.
Except by the paps, of course!
Rita Ora
Think of Rita Ora and her out-there get-ups performing on stage and as a judge on The X Factor probably spring to mind.
Here, the singer opts for a decidedly more low-key outfit in a baggie hoodie and matching joggers.
The sunglasses, cap and hood combo would lead anyone to think Rita doesn’t want to be spotted…
Leonardo DiCaprio
This image is like a twist on the ‘Where’s Wally?’ book series.
The Oscar-winning actor tried to keep a low profile at the men singles final of the French Open earlier this year with a flat cap, sunglasses and his collar up.
But it would take more than that to keep us from spotting this chunk of hunk.
Justin Bieber
Rather than going down the conventional route and trying to disguise himself by blending into the background, Justin Bieber decided a gas mask might do the job more effectively (obvs).
Needless to say, his bizarre choice of get-up while out shopping in London only attracted more attention.
The singer later explained his weird outfit and said a friend had dared him to go out wearing it.
He liked his new accessory so much, though, he even wore it again leaving the restaurant Mr Chow’s.
Michelle Obama
It seems even the First Lady of the United States loves a bargain.
When Michelle Obama stepped out for a spot of shopping in the US budget store, Target, she looked unrecognisable in casual clothes, a cap and sunnies.
Well, almost unrecognisable!
Andy Murray
World tennis number two Andy Murray decided to try his hand at serving ice cream instead of lightening-speed tennis balls last year.
The Scottish player showed his lighter side as he donned a wig, glasses and a baseball cap at the Cincinnati Masters tournament in Ohio in an attempt to trick his fans.
He wasn’t so successful though and many saw through his disguise – doh!
Hugh Jackman
'Australia' star Hugh Jackman stepped out for dinner at Chiltern Firehouse in his trademark leather jacket and dark blue polo.
His face, however, was far from his usual look.
The actor showed off his vintage goatee and shaved head, which he was sporting for his role as Blackbeard in the Peter Pan movie.
Shia LaBeouf
Ok, so it’s not a disguise in a traditional sense but this one was too good to miss off.
Shia LaBeouf certainly made a statement when he arrived at a screening of his film ‘Nymphomaniac’ in 2014 wearing a paper bag over his head branded with the words “I’m not famous anymore.”
If that was ever the case, it certainly wasn’t for long, as his unusual fashion statement made headlines the world over.
