Why Spencer Matthews is the LAST person the royals want joining the Middleton family
The 28-year-old reality star lost his virginity at 13, claims to have bedded over a 1,000 women and was caught snorting cocaine
HE’S THE hunky reality star who has more notches on his bedpost than Hugh Hefner, once went on a 30-hour LSD bender and is famed for his lavish lifestyle.
So it may come as a surprise to hear that Spencer Matthews, the 28-year-old Made In Chelsea stud, is going to become a member of the royal family.
The TV personality’s older brother James is set to marry the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa, after he popped the question with a £250,000 ring over the weekend.
It’s fair to say Spencer, the louche ladies’ man who claims to have bedded more than 1,000 women, is probably the last person The Queen wants joining the Middleton clan.
Spencer was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, to parents Jane and David, who own the exclusive Eden Rock Hotel in St Barts.
He was educated at the famous British private school Eton, which was also attended by Prince William, Prince Harry, actor Eddie Redmayne and his MIC co-star Ollie Proudlock.
Before gracing our television screens in the E4 constructed reality programme, Spencer worked as a PR for posh London clubs including Boujis and Movida.
He later decided to get a “proper” job and began working as a foreign exchange trader at City tycoon Michael Spencer’s Icap currency brokers, reportedly earning £100,000 a year.
Spencer held down his banking career while filming the first series of MIC in 2011 but sacked it in as his popularity soared.
Thanks to his gaggle of glamorous girlfriends, bed-hopping antics and cheeky personality, he quickly became the show’s most prominent star.
He seemed to make his way through the cast hooking up with Funda Onal, Louise Thompson, Caggie Dunlop, Lucy Watson, Stephanie Pratt and Lauren Hutton.
As the most famous bachelor in Britain, he was invited to take part on Channel 5’s The Bachelor in 2012.
The programme saw him date 24 different women, eventually settling for Khloe Evans - but things quickly fizzled out.
The same year, Spencer was caught snorting a white powder at a house party, which was believed to be cocaine.
In 2013 he released his autobiography Confession of a Chelsea Boy, which was crammed full of jaw-dropping revelations.
In the book, he admitted losing his virginity at 13 to a 16-year-old girl while on holiday.
Spencer, who is rumoured to be worth £3 million, also bragged about orgies, and recalled a sixsome he had with two other men.
He said: “There were three girls and two guys, one called Ben. Things didn’t take long to escalate. I was invited to get involved, which I did without hesitation.
“We were all busy at times but the night took a slightly odd turn when Ben decided to multitask.
"Ben isn’t gay – he’s not even bisexual – but on this particular occasion he did become a little over-familiar.
“I was enjoying a hand job from what I hope was one of the nifty Canadian girls when I noticed a slightly firmer grip than had been the case earlier that evening. ‘Ben,’ I said, ‘Stick to the girls, mate. Not my thing’.”
Spencer also admitted experimenting with drugs as a teen and taking LSD at a country rave.

“I don’t condone drugs and am uncomfortable about appearing to glamourise them,” he said.
“But I need to tackle the subject with total honesty.”
Spencer, who is pals with Pippa's brother James, also confessed to having sex with a prostitute, after being ‘tricked’ into going with her.
He told The Sun: “I felt as though I had been taken for a ride. We were having a juvenile contest to see who could pull the fastest and this girl came over and was really full-on.
“I was so annoyed by the fact I had been tricked. Obviously it was sex so I wasn’t that angry but I felt a bit hard done by.”
In November 2013, Spencer was left ‘absolutely gutted’ when a full-frontal nude snap of him leaked online.
