‘Am I a bad mum because my child fell out of bed?’ Mumsnet users both slam and support new mum who turned her back on her little girl

The first-time mum admitted her 6 month-old daughter rolled off the bed while her back was turned

A WOMAN took to Mumsnet to reveal how her six-month-old baby girl fell off the bed while her back was turned - and it has had a mixed reaction.

The first-time mum who goes by the name BringingYoniBack confessed: "This morning she rolled off the bed while my back was turned and landed face down with a thud. She cried, I cried, eventually she calmed down.

"Later on this afternoon we had lunch with my husband and I decided to carry on very slowly weaning with some pea puree.

"She has Cow's MilK Protein Intolerance and I totally didn't think about the soy bean/pea thing (we've not touched soy) and of course she reacted. Rash, hives, allergy shiners.

"So the poor thing had a bump this morning and a reaction this afternoon. Please tell me I'm not the worst mother in the world."

She later said that her daughter had red mark on her forehead and that she felt “awful”

She later said that her daughter had red mark on her forehead and that she felt "awful".

She added: "She peed on me when I picked her up but I think I deserved it."

Seeking comfort from other mums, instead she was slammed for not being careful.

One mum wrote: "No, of course not - I was far too careful for mine to have rolled off a bed. Didn't you listen to all the warnings about never leaving them unaccompanied?"

Another added: "None of mine even rolled off a bed or sofa. Only one fell down stairs. I am proud to say we have only been to a&e three times."

One mum said: ";No. Never. And everyone warned me about it, how dangerous it was etc. But she never did."

Other mums were more sympathetic and revealed she’s not the only one to go though this and insisted it was a “rite of passage”

But other mums were more sympathetic and revealed she's not the only one to go though this and insisted it was a "rite of passage".

Speaking in support of the mum, Chimchar said: "I have 3 kids. Each of them has fallen off the bed when they were tiny. It's a rite of passage in this house. Hope your baby is ok!"

Shockingly one mum, DramaAlpaca, revealed: "My second son rolled off the bed aged about 18 months and broke his collarbone. I felt like the worst mother in the world after that one."

Another user wrote: "If you're the worlds worst mother, what does that make me?"

One reassured her saying: "I've never met a baby who hasn't fell off the bed. Including all three of mine."
