Teachers most likely to have affairs with their colleagues… and a quarter have had sex in the CLASSROOM
Lawyers, pilots and journalists also topped the list... with work-related stress and long hours getting the blame
IT’S bad news for anyone dating a teacher – as apparently they’re the most likely to have an affair with a colleague.
Shockingly, more than a quarter of them (27 per cent) admitted to having sex with another teacher in a CLASSROOM, despite the risk of getting walked in on by a student.
Some 15 per cent of lawyers and eight per cent of journalists have done the same at their place of work.
According to Illicit Encounters, 19 per cent of teachers have slept with a colleague while in a relationship with someone else.
Following closely behind on the cheating scale are lawyers (17 per cent), pilots (13 per cent) and journalists (12 per cent).
The infidelity dating website polled 1,500 professionals – and long hours and work-related stress were the most common excuses for cheating with a colleague.
While women tended to think of other ways to de-stress before embarking on an affair, married blokes were found to make the first move 72 per cent of the time.
The most likely to cheat with a colleague list:
1. Teacher (19%)
2. Lawyer (17%)
3. Other (15%)
4. Pilot (13%)
5. Journalist (12%)
6. Doctor (9%)
7. Nurse (8%)
8. Police Officer (5%)
9. Event Planner (2%).
Illicit Encounters spokesman Christian Grant said: “While you should almost never mix work and play, it appears that those with jobs that put employees under extreme duress on a daily basis and are in an environment that allows for friendships to be forged and positive bonds to be established… are most likely to cross the proverbial line in the sand.
“Teachers are now closing the book after another undoubtedly stressful year.
“Whether they’re stressing over targets, an impromptu Ofsted inspection or their class’ exams, they always have their colleagues’ shoulders to lean on.
“However, when the work becomes too much, they’re doing a little bit more than just leaning on a shoulder of their colleague, and choose to ‘de-stress’ in other ways.
“Then, of course, you have your doctors and your lawyers – the foundations for infidelity remain the same.
“Long hours, stress, and a serious imbalance of work and play.”

Christopher added: “Even in professions like teaching, traditionally dominated by women, men are the predators, so to speak.
“Instead of thinking of alternatives to solve any stress or work related issues they may have, the significant majority think with a completely different organ entirely.
“Whether that further adds credence to the stereotypical view that men are sleazier with more of a one track mind, well who’s to say?”
