Despite being faced with hoards of the eight-legged arachnids, Lyndsey was able to get some close-up snaps of them as they scurried around the garden.

She told the Sun Online: "I first noticed the spiders just after the heatwave that we had, and there are hundreds of them!"

Although Lyndsey isn't particularly scared of spiders she admitted that the invasion was like a scene from a horror film.

"I was freaked out, it was like a horror movie, they were everywhere," she told the

Wolf spiders have four sets of eyes on their head, these consist of two large ones and six smaller ones and they can grow up to 7cm in diameter making them the largest species of creepy crawlies in Europe.

And while creature is poisonous, fortunately their bite isn't fatal, although it can cause a nasty swelling, something Lyndsey wasn't aware of until she asked for advice on Facebook.

Appealing to people on social media, Lyndsey posted a few snaps of the creepy crawlies on a Facebook group and others soon informed her about what they are.

"I know nothing about them that's why I put it on the spider site on Facebook, and I did not know they bite", she explained.

But when asked if the family managed to remove the eight legged insects, Lyndsey told The Sun Online: "

"To be honest we haven't tried to get rid of them as when you go near them the run away quickly."
