‘I’ve won better health’: Dad-of-four proud to have dropped TWO STONE by pounding the pavement while playing Pokemon Go
IF the thought of the Atkins diet fills you with dread and you can’t bear to go low sugar, we might have just the answer.
According to dad-of-four Sam Clark, 32, all your really need to lose weight is Pokemon Go.
Yes, Sam has become so obsessed with catching the characters on the app he walked the equivalent of FIVE MARATHONS, helping him lose a colossal two stone.
He’s less excited about that than he is his other big achievement though – he’s got all 142 characters available on the UK game as well as two from other countries.
Sam appeared on This Morning today, where host Eamonn Holmes asked what he’s got out of the game.
“I haven’t won anything just a better health,” he said.
“It has made me lose weight, got me out more, I am taking the kids out more.
“So it isn’t winning anything, it is personal getting me out more.”
Pokemon Go launched in the UK on July 6 and it didn’t take Sam long to get the bug.
He’s pounded the pavements all over Southampton and Gosport, and his dedication means he’s ‘caught’ all of the 142 characters available in the UK.
Not content with leaving it there, Sam’s also bagged two other Pokemon which come from America and Asia.
He has another he needs to hatch, which means more time spent walking because exercise is the key to bringing them to life.
Sam claims to be the first person in the country to capture all the Pokemon, but he’s keen to point out the game is to have fun and not make it a ‘race’.
He also took a moment to remind people to be aware of their surrounding while in pursuit of Pokemon.
Sam’s spoken about using his love of the app to get in shape before, revealing he piled on weight after a car accident in 2008.
