Models Jourdan Dunn, Georgia May Jagger, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima reveal their cheap and easy make-up tips
BEAUTIFUL Elsa Hosk proved that even supermodels get caught off-guard without their face made up every once in a while.
The Victoria’s Secret beauty, 27, was photographed make-up free when leaving a hotel at 7.30am.
When she emerged for a photoshoot three hours later, she was transformed into a bombshell.
But you don’t need your own personal glam squad to have a model makeover – all you need are a few tips and tricks from new book Supermodel Tips.
Here, LYNSEY CLARKE picks out the best secrets from some of the best-known models and make-up artists in the business.
EYES
Brit supermodel JOURDAN DUNN, 26, says her top tip is: “Hold a credit card behind your lashes when you apply your mascara.
“If you gently press against the card you get a wide-eyed curled effect without getting lots of the product on your eyelid.”
And Sports Illustrated cover girl LILY ALDRIDGE, 30, says: “If you have puffy eyes, a great trick is using really thick Greek yoghurt with a little bit of honey under your eyes.”
LIPS
GEORGIA MAY JAGGER, 24, who has the best pout on the runway, says: “Do a lip liner not to exactly line your lips.
“Put it underneath just so it stays, then if you want a super, super-matte look, you can put a translucent powder over the top."
Fashion model JOAN SMALLS, 28, says: “A lipstick is an accessory – it’s the finishing touch on any look. Whenever I wear a deep red, I feel mysterious and flirty.”

FACE
One of the world’s most successful models, HEIDI KLUM, 43, says: “When I go to an event I take a little container of loose powder and blotting papers to reduce shine. After I take the sweat and oil off my face with blotting paper, I’ll use a tiny Shu Uemura brush to apply powder.”
Burberry model SUKI WATERHOUSE, 24, says: “I love coconut oil, so if I come home at night feeling all dry and like a fossil I’ll put my hand in a jar of coconut oil and mush it over my face."
Make-up artist's top tips
- Avoid eyeshadow creases by putting translucent powder on eyelids.
- Put cling film under the eyes to catch pigment from eye shadow and then remove.
- Apply mascara to your bottom lashes first, as you will open the eyes wider. If you have already applied mascara to your top lashes you are more likely to get blobbing on the lids.
- Buff away dead skin on your lips with a blend of olive oil and brown sugar.
- Plump lips by dotting liquid illuminator over the shape of the Cupid’s bow.
- Get a fresh, dewy complexion by adding an illuminating cream across cheeks, temples, forehead and jawline, between your moisturiser and foundation.
- Use toothpaste to brighten your nails and remove any yellow tinge.

HAIR
Stunning Brazilian model ADRIANA LIMA, 35, says: “If you have dry hair, don’t wash it every day.
“And if you have very, very dry hair, wash it once a week.
“The oils help your hair look better. You have to do what’s good for your hair.”
And catwalk legend CLAUDIA SCHIFFER, 45, says her top hair tip is: “I stop blow-drying my hair when it’s still slightly damp and let it air-dry the rest of the way.
“It makes it more lived-in and not so perfect.”
