FROM not feeding your baby to putting a hat on him in the middle of July, mums reveal the worst parenting advice they've ever received.
It seems that becoming a parent opens you up to all sort of "helpful" suggestions on how you should be raising your kids.
Hilarious pieces of wisdom were shared on after user Icarriedawatermelon123 asked: "What's the funniest, most weird baby advice you've ever been given?"
Describing some of the tips she's received, she said her dad once told her not to feed her newborn boy during the day "so he will sleep longer at night".
Others included putting a hat on her baby inside a heated room of 25C in the middle of summer.
Many mums were quick to share their own experiences.
The most bizarre parenting advice came from Mumsnet user Slinkyvagabond: "I got told off for tickling my niece's feet as it would make her stammer."

Mrsmugoo recalled how a health visitor advised her to give her eight-month-old son "crumble and custard as he needed the calories to help him sleep through".
She added: "Suffice to say I've not bothered with advice from a HV (health visitor) since."
Latium123 said her mother-in-law told her not to cuddle her five-week-old son " as he needs to get his independence".
Another mum told how her ex-mother-in-law told her off for "over-stimulating" her baby boy at three months.
She said: "Apparently reading to him, and playing with his toys was entirely unnecessary and could do him long term damage, and I should completely ignore him so he learns to entertain himself."
One mum said she was told to shave her nine-month baby daughter's head to make her hair grow quicker.
Meanwhile, a mum described how she was told to leave her unborn baby girl due in December outside in a pram to "make her lungs really work".
