A smutty kept tabs on the bedroom antics of 731 Italian ladies to work out what patterns underpin how much action you're likely to get.
And the research, which focused on women aged between 18-43, found that eating an apple a day can do more for you than just keep the doctor away.
In fact, women who have at least one apple every day have hotter sex than those who don't, according to the study's fruity findings.
The researchers, who published their findings in the Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics journal, claim that nobody has ever studied the specific impact apples can have on women's sex drives.
And their groundbreaking findings suggest that apples may get their libido-boosting powers from naturally-occurring enzymes which mimic estradiol, the female sex hormone.
They also contain contain antioxidants and chemicals which help to increase blood flow to the vagina, and therefore make it easier for women to orgasm.
The survey, called the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), aimed to offer a snapshot of women's sex lives and rate how much their enjoyed their encounters.
Research revealed that the women with the higher FSFI scores were the ones who ate at least an apple every day.
The team behind the study said: “This study suggests a potential relationship between regular daily apple consumption and better sexuality in our young women population.”
