Are these the worst losers of all time? These celebrities are a lesson in how NOT to deal with disappointment
From sports stars to actors, these celebs let their upset show all over their faces
TEAM GB gymnast Louis Smith, 27, isn’t the first (and won’t be the last) to take defeat badly as he lost out on the gold medal to Max Whitlock on Sunday.
With accusations that he muttered "that’s bulls**t" to the result, refused to shake Max’s hand and then blubbed like a baby on the podium – it wasn’t quite the celebration we might have expected for getting a silver medal at Rio 2016.
But he’s not alone. Here are a few other memorable losers…
#1 Elton John
Not one to hide his feelings, in 2004 Elton had won a Q award but took the opportunity to slam Madonna in his acceptance speech.
He ranted: “Madonna, best live act? F*** off. Since when has lip-syncing been live? Sorry about that, but I think everyone who lip-syncs on stage in public when you pay like 75 quid to see them should be shot. Thank you very much.”
He’s since followed it up, not with an apology, but by calling her a 'f***ing fairground stripper'.
#2 McKayla Maroney
You may have forgotten about this 16-year-old American gymnast who had a right mare while competing at London 2012.
But she soon became an internet meme sensation after ballsing up her landing and losing out on gold in the vault final.
Her face really did say it all… before she tweeted to claim her silver medal was “sick”. Bless.
#3 Chris Brown
Not one to endear himself to many – Chris Brown showed his childish side yet again at the 2013 Grammy’s when he refused to stand or clap for Frank Ocean, who, rightfully, beat him to Best Urban Contemporary Album award.
Don’t fear though – our Adele didn’t hide her disgust when she marched up to him and gave him a piece of her mind. As if we needed any more reasons to love her.
#4 Giselle Bundchen
Who knew Giselle got quite so worked up about American football?
Not us – until her hubby Tom Brady’s New York Giants lost in the Superbowl of 2012.
Storming out after the match, the supermodel was caught ranting: “My husband can not f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time”.
It must have been one pretty damn awkward conversation around the dinner table the day this video was leaked…
#5 Kanye West
Yep, no surprise he’s on the list – Kanye’s not known to be discreet with his emotions after all.
In 2006, he stormed the stage to snatch the mic in protest at the MTV Europe Awards after his Touch the Sky video didn’t win the prize.
Then he did it all over again, this time attacking Taylor Swift (on behalf of Beyonce – as the gentleman he is) at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
Apparently becoming a dad has changed him though…
#6 Ella Henderson
When Ella Henderson lost to Paloma Faith at the 2015 Brit Awards, her face was a lesson in how not to lose.
The singer looked like her world had just come crashing down when Paloma's name was announced instead of hers.
She later insisted that she wasn't angry, she was just "concentrating on listening to Paloma's speech because she was so moved by what she was saying".
If that's true, she's got the glummest look of concentration we've ever seen.

#7 Sheridan Smith
Sheridan Smith struggled to contain her disappointment as The C-Word failed to bring in a BAFTA for Best Single Drama at this year’s TV awards.
Losing out to Don't Take My Baby, Sheridan was visibly upset until she became aware she was on camera and made a spectacular attempt to recover.
We weren't fooled, though.
#8 Minnie Driver
When Kim Basinger won Best Supporting Actress at the 1998 Oscars for her role in La Confidential, Minnie Driver couldn't have looked more shocked.
Obviously feeling the award was destined for her after her performance in Good Will Hunting, the actress faltered for a few seconds before proving why she'd been nominated in the first place – acting as though she was pleased for her. She deserves an Oscar for that, at least.
It was also the same night her ex Matt Damon had already won an award too. Bad times.
