Is that a ghost? Mysterious mist is caught on film in one of Britain’s most haunted pubs
Reportedly the ghost of a witch named Molly Leigh haunts the Leopard Inn, Stoke-on-Trent
A MYSTERIOUS mist has been caught on camera in one of Britain's most haunted pubs.
Footage shows a small white ball of light bouncing through the corridor before reappearing right in front of the camera moments later.
The clip was taken by ghost hunters Spirit Searchers at the Leopard Inn, in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, which originally opened in the 1700s as a coaching house and inn.
They captured the action using a Wi-Fi camera on the top floor of the old hotel but didn't spot their find until reviewing footage days after their five-hour investigation.
Paranormal investigator Roy Woolrich said: "We were really shocked by the footage and don't have an explanation for it.
"There are lots of tales of hidden tunnels, murder and witchcraft, along with the curses around here but we can't tell what happened as it was only caught on film.
"Spirits within the building ranged from young children to adults, both male and female.
"This wasn't the only unusual experience, every time I left the second floor I closed the door but whenever we returned it was fully open again."
Previous online reports claim that visitors to the Leopard Inn have had bricks thrown at them, seen doors open and close without explanation, and reportedly the ghost of a witch named Molly Leigh haunts the rooms.
Molly, known as the Burslem Witch, was shunned for her 'ugly demeanour' and later was accused of witchcraft after rarely attending church.
The eccentric woman was believed to be mature beyond her years was a milk seller who would travel around the town with a blackbird on her shoulder, after her death it's since been claimed she haunts the corridors of Leopard Inn.
Roy added: "During the investigation many things happened, one of our torches suddenly lit up and turned 90 degrees to the left.
"Myself and Mark are true believes in the paranormal, we've had experiences from a full apparition to Mark being scratched through three layers of clothing.
"Due to us not being in the area at the time it's hard for us to say whether it was paranormal or not, we're investigating all possibilities because we can't find anything that could explain what happened in the footage."
This is not the only paranormal experience of the house says company Haunted Happenings, who run tours of the historical location.
Hazel Ford from Haunted Happenings, said: ""The Leopard Inn has earned its reputation for being one of the most terrifying pubs in England.
"On Haunted Happenings overnight ghost hunts here we have experienced some macabre and malevolent activity which includes dark shadows, footsteps heard on the empty floors above and an apparition being seen in the old maid's quarters. Definitely a spooky location"
