THE streets of Notting Hill are awash with colour this weekend, as the carnival comes to town.

Thousands of people transform themselves with amazing outfits to attend Notting Hill Carnival, in west London, every year.

The two-day Caribbean celebration kicked off with Children’s Day today – and people were certainly dressed to impress.

From those in the parade to those watching from the pavement, everyone’s fantastic clothes successfully brightened up an, at times, gloomy day.

The festivities continue in Notting Hill tomorrow, with the main parade.

The entertainment starts at 10am, and continues until 8.30pm.

Notting Hill Carnival is the second biggest in the world – with only Rio de Janeiro’s Brazilian celebrations beating it.
