Mum unveils five no-fuss hairstyles YOU can do on your girls before they go to school
Sponsored by Tesco with F&F
GETTING your kids ready for school is no easy feat.
From yanking out unruly knots to attempting a new style, the morning hair saga is arguably one of the most challenging parts of the day.
To help make the struggle a bit more bearable, Beth Belshaw, a stylist at , has created five no-fuss hairstyles you can do on your daughter.
The mum-of-two, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, has created looks that are pretty, functional and - most importantly - kid-approved.
Beth has used a selection of Tesco’s bobbles, bands and hair clips, which come in a variety of colours meaning you can match the design to your child’s uniform.
Watch the below tutorials and bid farewell to hair horrors.
1. THE BUBBLE MOHAWK
Perfect for mums in a rush (so that's everyone then!), Beth says there's "no messing around" with this one.
She revealed: "It's a really easy style than can be done quickly in the morning.
"It took me a few minutes and will stay in all day."
Beth styled the look on nine-year-old Ashton using blue and white accessories.
1. Take the front section of hair and tie into a bobble.
2. Pick up this ponytail then add hair from both sides, again tie into a bobble.
3. Pull the little section of hair between the two bobbles to start making your 'mohawk' effect.
4. Repeat this process until you reach the nape of the neck.
5. Add bobbles all the way to the bottom of the ponytail, pulling on the sides of the sections to create a 'bubble' effect.
2. THE BRAIDED BUBBLE PONYTAIL
Beth said this is another "simple and easy to do" look.
Modelling the style on Ashton, this time using red accessories, she said: “It looks really cute and works well with shoulder length or long hair."
1. Put the hair in a ponytail.
2. Take a small section at the centre of the pony, braid right to the end and tie with an elastic.
3. Take a small elastic and tie the ponytail about two inches from the top.
4. Use your fingers to gently pull the sides of this section.
5. Repeat this process down to the bottom of the ponytail, pulling on the sides of the sections to create a 'bubble' effect. Add bows or clips if desired.
3. THE TWISTED PIGTAIL
This is a twist on an old favourite.
Beth said the style should take just 30 seconds to do and looks "really cute".
Jorja, seven, modelled the look, which features blue elastics and bows.
1. Take a top section of hair and tie in a bobble to the left side of the head.
2. Divide the middle section of hair in two and tie in pigtails.
3. Take the bottom section of hair and tie in a bobble to the right of the head.
4. Do a twist braid with the top left section and tie into the right pigtail.
5. Do a twist braid with the bottom right section and tie into the left pigtail.
4. THE FLIP-THROUGH BRAID
Beth roped in her six-year-old daughter Abby to help showcase this look.
"It is really smart and out of the way for school,” she said.
1. Take a small section of hair from one side of the head, tie with a bobble then using a topsy tail pull the ponytail through, going towards the head.
2. Take hold of this flipped ponytail, add more hair from both sides, tie in a bobble then again flip the pony through using a topsy tail.
3. Repeat this process going around the head so you finish at the nape of the neck on the opposite side of which you started.
5. THE PULL-THROUGH BRAID
This style is perfect for mums with active kids.
Beth commented: "It's really good for sport as it doesn't move."
Abby helped model the look, this time achieved with green bobbles.
1. Tie the hair into three ponytails going down the centre of the head.
2. Take the top (first) pony and divide in two.
3. Take the underneath (second) pony through the middle of the top pony and clip out of the way.
4. Combine the two sections of the top pony to the bottom (third) ponytail and tie in a bobble.
5. To finish clip the second pony, tie a bobble, then using your fingers, pull the underneath ponytail through and repeat.
