Competitive bride-to-be determined to out-do her identical twin sister’s wedding day ends up buying the SAME dress… then jokes she’ll spend £1,300 on her shoes as it was ‘so cheap’
Laura was determined to out-shine twin Nikki... but ended up copying her style on TLC's Say Yes To The Dress
A COMPETITIVE bride-to-be is planning to spend £1,300 on shoes to match her ‘bargain’ wedding dress, in an attempt to out-do her identical twin sister’s big day.
Laura McRoberts’ £1,726 Ronald Joyce gown was well under her £3,000 budget – and the 34-year-old plans to spend the rest of the cash on a pair of ‘really expensive’ shoes.
Her twin Nikki Tibballs got married three years ago, and mum-of-one Laura is determined to make her day ‘the best’.
She plans to have a silhouette artist, magician, string quartet, and sparkler exit as she and her 15-month-old daughter Frankie’s dad Michael Hertz leave the venue.
But despite being adamant her day would be completely different, Laura ended up picking a ball gown dress in the SAME style as her twin – when appearing on TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress.
Laura had previously told the cameras: “Being a twin, we are very similar. We have the same taste in absolutely everything.
“Clothes, fashion, our houses. We are very much the same.
“It’s really important to make my wedding different. It has to be the best. My sister’s wedding was very grand, so I need to go that little bit extra.
“Being twins, identical, everyone compares us. But I have to be different.
“I didn’t want anything even remotely close to what Nikki had on. I’m quite nervous.”

“I can’t believe I’ve managed to find a grand dress to match my grand venue. My dress is better than Nikki’s without a doubt.”
But twin Laura disagreed, joking: “I could actually see myself in Laura’s dress, but I do like my dress better.”
