A fuming mother has sparked a heated response from Mumsnet users after requesting advice when she found that her nanny had left her three-year-old daughter alone in the park for 15 minutes.

The shocked parent with the username “alwaystimeforgin”, took to the forum explaining that a friend had found her daughter wandering around the park with no adult watching her.

She goes on to say that after ten minutes the child’s nanny returned with a coffee and claimed that she had gone to the café to buy a drink for the little girl as she was thirsty.

The mother explained that the round-trip to the café would have taken 15 minutes in total and asks fellow Mumsnet users’ advice on how to respond to the incident of serious misconduct.

One user was so outraged she posted: “Instead of LTB [leave the bastard] can we have FTB (fire the bitch).”

While another commented: “Totally unacceptable. Hear your nanny out but I think I’d be dismissing her. Leaving a 3[year old]?!?? There can be no justification for that.”

Another simply said “STB” an abbreviation for “sack the bitch.”

In a follow up post the mother “alwaystimeforgin” said that she had spoken to the nanny who had apparently left the little girl with a friend.

The friend had then had to attend to her own child and forgot about the three-year-old leaving her to wander on her own.

Despite the explanation the parent was still sceptical.

She said: “I think to be honest I have just answered my own question- I should just get a new nanny and move on.”
