WHO needs a blusher brush when you can just apply your make-up with a WINE BOTTLE?
The latest beauty trend involves contouring your face with a bottle of plonk, after a fun clip online went viral.
And that isn’t the only style shortcut using household items to take the internet by storm.
Here, LAURA STOTT gives five popular beauty hacks a go – and gives them each a rating out of ten.
Hit the bottle for perfect contour
I AM certainly partial to a glass of vino while glamming-up.
But including a bottle of my favourite tipple in my make-up kit is a new one on me.
Contouring your face with a wine bottle may sound wacky but it turns out that applying a boozy base layer isn’t so daft after all.
Using the bottle’s neck as a guide gives me razor-sharp cheekbones.
The curved base is perfect for defining my hairline and jaw!
Just make sure the cork is firmly in the bottle to avoid any spillages. Cheers!

Credit card cats' eyes
UNSTEADY hands mean I have never mastered the perfect black eyeliner flick.
So using a bank card stencil for winged eyes seems like a great solution.
Holding my card on a diagonal angle, parallel to the outer corner of my eye, I try tracing eyeliner along the edge.
But my hand wobbles and I can’t keep the card still.
And it’s even worse when I try using my left hand.
The end result isn’t much better than my usual efforts are. And there is more eyeliner on my credit card than my face.

Spoon sexy eyelashes
DON’T splash out on speciality make-up tools – ransack your kitchen drawers.
The humble spoon is a beauty hacker’s best friend. When brushing on mascara, the spoon prevents black splodges collecting in my eye crease and on lower lashes, it shields my cheeks from mascara debris.
Next, I use the curve of the spoon as an outline for my brows. Result! It is spot-on for fashionable arches.
In reality, my peepers aren’t perfect but I will stash a spoon in my bag in future anyway.

Tin foil curlers
I USUALLY curl my locks using tongs or straighteners.
But after tearing foil into strips, I separate strands of hair and spiral them around my fingers.
Each curl is parcelled up in foil, then I press the straighteners firmly over each package for a few seconds.
It works and when the foil is removed, my barnet is a mass of Seventies-style bouncy ringlets.
But it is fiddly and time-consuming.
Plus, I am not convinced my tresses look any better than if I had simply used a heated appliance.
Verdict: 7/10
Toothbrush nail art
WHY splash out on expensive manicures when you can do DIY nail art with a toothbrush that is as cheap as chips?
After painting on a bright base layer, I use the bristles on a flat toothbrush to apply blobs of a new colour directly on top. I leave them to dry before cleaning the brush and applying a second colour.
The splodges aren’t uniform and the polish takes forever to set but I’m amazed by how good it looks.
I get loads of compliments on my neat and funky manicure, too.
This is one beauty hack that completely nails it.
