'I will dress to show off my body'

Columnist Amanda Holden on doing the school run in stilettos and her ‘risqué’ BGT outfits

Amanda reveals how she gets her incredible body and why she'll flaunt her figure while she can

WITH my girls back at school, I try really hard to get home from work in time to collect them, and usually I have the chance to change out of my work wardrobe.

But not this week.

On Tuesday, I picked up Hollie in a two-piece bodycon number, stilettos, full face of slap and a bouncy blow-dry having come straight from a TV launch.

I hope the other mums at the gates don’t think that this is my usual school-run style – it’s definitely not!

Although I have to dress up for work, there are two Mandys when it comes to style.

Amanda had to rush from a TV launch to pick up her kids from school in a glamorous get-up

I love going casual as much as I love dressing up, and like most mothers I have my mum uniform – the wardrobe staples I wear when I’m off-duty and just want to be comfortable.

If you had popped round to mine on Saturday morning, you’d have found me in my khaki Paige jeans, trainers, a casual shirt and zero make-up.

When I’m at work I have a stylist called Angie Smith – she’s got a celebrity client list as long as your arm, including Strictly’s Laura Whitmore and Holly Willoughby.

Just last week, Alesha and I were having another giggle over the complaints ITV got this year about our BGT outfits being too risqué.

I’m always amused at the attention my boobs get when I’m photographed!

My attitude is I’m 45, and while I can still flash a bit of leg and my nipples aren’t yet pointing downwards, I’m going to dress to show off my body. So there!

Amanda is back on a rigorous exercise regime after enjoying a lazy summer

However, after my very lazy summer, I need to get back into my fitness regime.

I’ve been training hard this week with my PT Svava Sigbertsdottir (try saying that after a few cocktails) who founded The Viking Method – an Icelandic exercise plan that has lots of celeb fans such as Suki Waterhouse and Nicole Scherzinger.

It’s intense, but my abs are reaping the rewards, so watch this space.
