You’ve been peeling garlic wrong your whole life… here’s a 10-second hack to make it a doddle
No more smelly fingers... with this quick kitchen fix you'll be whipping up some a-peel-ing meals
GARLIC is a great way to add flavour to a meal, from pasta dishes to curries or soups.
But when you've rushed home from work to get dinner on the table, who wants the hassle of faffing about trying to peel it?
The smell is also notorious for lingering on fingertips... but this handy hack can save you reaching for the (often far pricier) alternative of garlic granules or ready-chopped jars.
Just pop the bulb of garlic in the microwave and heat for 20 seconds. The papery layers of skins will fall off in your hands in a jiffy.
This video from Panasonic Asia demonstrates the speedy trick, which makes it so much simpler to peel the cloves.
If you have leftover garlic, it will keep in an airtight container for up to two days.
Keep this microwave method up sleeve for when you're pushed for time, but still fancy a flavourful meal.
