Zara Holland, Danielle Lloyd and now Miss Universe Puerto Rico: the de-throned beauty queens and the crazy reasons they lost their crowns
It’s hard to get your hands on one of these tiaras but keeping hold of them was even more difficult for these polished pageant queens
IT was announced today that Miss Universe Puerto Rico will not be compensated after having her title take away for diva behaviour.
The pageant world has taken a beating recently with sex scandals and dethronings happening left-right-and-centre.
Here we run down the pageant princesses who have had sensationally had their titles removed.
Zara Holland
Possibly the most publicised of all the public dethronings Zara didn’t even realise that she had lost her title straight away as she was locked in the Love Island villa.
Zara won Miss Great Britain last September but after a public romp with island Lothario Alex Bowen, the stunner was stripped of the title.
Zara has said that she regrets the tryst, admitting: “You know when you’re in the moment and it just happens?
“Why couldn’t we have just gone to sleep?!”
Danielle Lloyd
Another Miss Great Britain, Danielle Lloyd also had her crown removed under scandalous circumstances.
Bosses de-crowned Danielle after Playboy magazine’s website advertised that “Miss GB” would be “dropping her bra” in a forthcoming edition on which she starred on the cover.
Going topless is very much against the competition’s policy, but four years later her title was reinstated after organisers admitted she should have been given “better guidance”.
Kristhielee Caride
Most recently Latina stunner Kristhielee Caride was stripped of her Miss Universe Puerto Rico earlier this year for her diva antics.
The beauty told a reporter that she didn’t like cameras during an interview and reportedly refused to use a designated hair salon and failed to appear on a TV programme due to bad traffic.
But the fun and games didn’t end there as Kristhielee sued the organisers for £2.25million in damages.
A judge ruled today that she had violated the terms of her Miss Universe contract and therefore threw out the suit.
Laura Anness
Beauty queen Laura Anness, was stripped of her title after she was exposed for lying about her age and where she lived.
She was crowned Miss Cornwall, despite actually living in Devon and having no connection with Cornwall at all.
Laura told the organisers that she was 22 years old but was actually 27.
She was rumbled after a pageant coordinator found her application forms from previous years.
When asked if she wanted to comment she said: "I don’t want to say anything. I just want to forget about it."

Marjorie Wallace
