She wanted to find out the best tips that others had picked up from around parenting site.

She added that her favourite trick was to do with storing bed linen.

She explained: “Every time I change the beds I thank the Mumsnetter who recommended keeping a complete set of bedding inside the pillowcase.

“Makes the whole process much more streamlined!”

Users were quick to chime in, with many saying that switching from tampons to a menstrual cup on the advice of fellow Mumsnetters had changed their lives.

Others also advised using clear nail polish to get rid of verrucas and skin tags.

AnneGables explained:  “I just painted clear varnish on the tag twice a day for about four days,

“Then it kind of died, so I clipped it off with nail clippers. No blood or pain and it completely disappeared after a couple of days.”

Twirlywoooo shared a nifty alternative use for dishwasher tablets.

She explained: “Dishwasher tablets dipped in hot water are great for cleaning baked on grease/c*** in your oven.”

Buzzardbird had a clever tip for making your home smell nice, and recommended using fabric conditioner to clean radiators, saying: “when the heating goes on the house has a lovely smell”.

And Audreyhelp had a quick fix for when you don't have time to get the vacuum cleaner out.

“Wet wipe the stairs. It looks like you have hoovered them”, she revealed.

And it even seems that hair removal cream has its handy uses, with user Dementedma recommending it for unblocking bathroom plugholes – as it dissolves trapped hair.

She said: “I read this as a tip on Mumsnet and it's great. Squidge it into blocked plughole and leave a while, then rinse”,she said.

Toothpaste is another household multi-tasker, according to Cornettoninja.

She explained: “My newest favourite is to wash your hands with toothpaste to get rid of onion or garlic smells,

“Actually works unlike frantically rubbing my hand on the stainless steel sink only to still get a whiff of it later!”

Blamethecat shared the 'toddler coat flip', an ingenious tactic for getting tots into their outdoor-wear.

She said: “They lay coat on the floor and stand at the head end, put their arms in the arm holes, then flip.”

And NotAClueReally3 suggested using a sponge to apply sun-cream to any fidgety kids.

She said: “Very minimal mess. I keep a special sponge for this and it's so much quicker, easier and less messy.”
