Jeremy Kyle’s Emergency Room is back… and the first guest is a cancer survivor show removes her NOSE on the show
Andrea lost her upper lip, nose and cheek bone to the disease... but beat the odds after being told she had a 20% chance of survival
A FACIAL cancer survivor has bravely removed her nose for Jeremy Kyle’s TV cameras, despite admitting that only family members had previously seen her without it.
Mum Andrea sought help after suffering from toothache in February 2011 – but soon realised her problem was something much more serious.
Appearing on Jeremy Kyle’s Emergency Room, Dr Ian explained that part of Andrea’s face completely collapsed – leaving her without her nose, top lip, gum and cheek bone.
The brave patient had 20 hours of reconstructive surgery and is now five years into remission from cancer, but was left with a sunken face and wearing a magnetic nose.
Andrea told the ITV cameras: “I have dark days. I still don’t go out on my own a lot. I do go to certain places but not everywhere because people stare.
“Even after the operation, they said there was only a 20 per cent chance of survival. That was all.
“There’s not many people who have seen me without my nose. Only a few in the family.”
Andrea has already had seven different prophetic noses, because of issues with the shape and colouring.
She has to take her nose off at night, with daughter Gemma joking that she sticks it on the fridge.
Andrea added: “I’m still not happy with the one I’ve got now. I want another one.”
Andrea has one drippy eye, which she can’t close, and has to tape it up every single night.
She can’t swallow properly and can only take it liquids orally, with more nutritious substances being fed directly into her stomach.
