Whereas a Gameboy complete with a red or blue Pokemon game and Sony Mini Disc are fetching £75 and almost £50, respectively.

The website, which is celebrating its 21st birthday today, has put together a list of the most popular retro gadgets, ranked by the amount of listing and searches made for each item.

Murray Lambell, head trading at eBay UK, said: “From the resurgence of Pokémon to the re-emergence of Star Wars, the last 12 months has been a year of retro.

“Our trends report shows that the British public’s appetite for the old-school is also making itself felt in the world of consumer technology.

“Families with previously loved tech hidden away in attics and drawers could be sitting on a tidy sum.”
