MOST women use YouTube to share stories about make-up techniques or new beauty buys, but one model from America has taken a different path.

Natalia Taylor, from Ohio, has used the video-sharing site to tell the heartbreaking story of when she was kidnapped by her mentally ill father aged just seven.

She called 39-minute clip Kidnapped: My Story, and explained in painstaking detail what she went through.

The incident occurred on June 24 2004, and resulted in Natalia changing her name.

Before talking about the actual event, the star explained her dad had paranoia and schizophrenia and could be abusive.

Her mum eventually left, and did everything in her power to make sure he didn't have visitation rights.

She couldn't ban him from seeing Natalia completely though.

On that day in 2004, she was at her cousin's house when her dad arrived.

"Dad shows up and he's being really aggressive and really forceful with my aunt and my uncle and says that he has visitation rights, that I'm his child and that he should be able to spend the day with me and do whatever he wants," .

He managed to grab her and bundle her into his truck.

Natalia can remember her aunt and uncle screaming and trying to make him stop, but as he was so big at 6ft 7ins they were no match for him.

He drove her to a church, which is when young Natalia realised how ill he was.

"He truly believed he was Jesus Christ and it's a really terrifying thing to think that someone really thinks that they're invincible," she said.

"Like he had power over everyone in the world."

He announced they were going to an amusement park, which Natalia presumed was a special outing for her as it was almost her birthday.

As this was going on, her family had called her mum and a police alert had been put out for her.

Horrifyingly, cops spoke to some of his friends who said he'd spoken of wanting to take Natalia to heaven with him.

The pair did go to an amusement park, where he lost his tempter after losing a cross necklace.

He again stuffed her in his car and a long drive, which was increasingly erratic, began.

In fact her dad cut through a red line, and amazingly an off duty policeman saw and reported him.

This was the break cops needed, and they eventually found Natalia and her dad - who started talking in "a tongue" she couldn't understand when he realised they'd been tracked down.

Police eventually forced the car of the road and managed to apprehend Natalia.

"He was making claims that he was trying to take us both to heaven," she said.

"So I think you guys can kind of interpret what that means."

The ordeal lasted 17 hours.

Although he was taken in by police, her dad was eventually found not guilty of kidnapping.

Natalia's dad is now homeless, and she explained she changed her name so he can't find her.
