How to legitimately get an NUS student card even if you’re not a student

The card gets students discounts at many online stores including 25% off Odeon tickets, 10% off ASOS, 10% Co-operative and 5% off at Amazon as well as many high street shops.

If you finished studying a long time ago, it doesn’t mean you have to live a discount-free life, as The Sun have found an above-board loophole which means EVERYONE can get an NUS student card.

How you can become a student for £4

The first step to getting a student card is to become a student, and there is no need to fork out £9,000 on tuition fees - just £4 on an online learning course.

Online education provider, e-Careers offers courses in everything from, Business to Beer and Mixology courses. It is also officially affiliated with NUS, meaning that if you sign up to an e-Career course, you can officially get an NUS card.

The cost of these courses on the e-Career website tend to be around the £200 mark, but the trick is to go to a daily deals site where these courses are heavily reduced - often by up to 97%.

Daily deals site GoGroopie currently has an for £4, down from £100 until Wednesday 27 September.

Once you have signed up, you don’t actually have to do the course (although you could if you wanted to) but are officially a student and can get yourself an NUS Extra card costing £12.

How to buy your NUS extra card

Go to the top right of the NUS Extra page and click ‘Buy your NUS Extra card now’ and fill in your details. There will be an option to choose ‘e-Careers’ from the university drop-down menu.

Just put in your normal email address and fill in your details. You will have to spend an extra £1 to get it delivered to your home, rather than the e-Careers head office. The discount card is valid for one year.
